Smashing Magazine posts regularly about design, web design, and other fancy stuff. Sometimes they approach some productivity and business related contents that help us as creatives. In this case the topic is far more interesting than is expected: with several information about how to put in practice ideas and turn them in businesses. I posted an article some time ago on my personal blog, inspired by the well known Belsky’s book: Making Ideas Happen.

However there are some other inspiring articles and I found this one, a nice complement by Mr. Frans Johansson, The Secret Truth About Executing Great Ideas.

The main points are:

1. Coming up with an innovative idea will require some methods of generating ideas from brainstorming to mind mapping that can help conjure up useful ideas.

2. To truly be innovative, you should take opposing thoughts and combine them, which increases the innovative potential of your idea.

3. When executing a creative idea with the resources you have available, you will have to make adjustments along the way that may not have been accounted for originally.

4. Engage yourself and commit yourself to push your ideas with perseverance
